Charcoal, intended for use in agriculture as a way of sequestering carbon and improving soil fertility, has been gaining in popularity. We will look at it properties and production then survey its use in soil and finally, address some outstanding questions regarding its economic viability and scalability.

About The Presenter
Jon Saunders is a member of EGG and has a BS in Applied Physics from UC Davis. During three years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he developed a prototype ultra stable oscillator used on the Cassini Mission. He has worked as an IT Professional at companies such as Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse First Boston. Jon has been an "At-Home" Dad for 12 years.
